Arrival in Entebbe

Welcome to Uganda

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. Transfer to Airportlink Guest House for overnight stay and rest after your journey.

Shoebill in Mabamba Swamp

📍 Mabamba Swamp → Entebbe

Shoebill Tracking Experience

After breakfast, drive 10 minutes to catch a boat that will take you to Mabamba Swamp. After 40 minutes on the boat, you will arrive and switch to a smaller boat with a local guide to search for the rare and prehistoric-looking Shoebill stork.

Afternoon at Leisure

Return to the hotel after the shoebill experience for lunch. The afternoon will be at leisure to relax and enjoy the hotel amenities.

To Kibale Forest

Journey to the Primate Capital

Drive 6 hours to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of the world. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal city and enjoy the scenic drive through western Uganda's beautiful landscapes.

Chimpanzee and Bigodi Swamp

Chimpanzee Tracking

In the morning, drive 15 minutes to the briefing point to meet with the ranger. Begin your trek into Kibale Forest to track chimpanzees. Spend one hour with these intelligent primates observing their behavior in their natural habitat.

Tracking Tips:

  • Duration: 2-5 hours
  • One hour with the chimps
  • Minimum age: 12 years

Bigodi Swamp Walk

In the late afternoon, take a guided walk through Bigodi Swamp for a chance to see other primates species, numerous bird species, and butterflies in this rich wetland ecosystem.

Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

Take an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel for wildlife and bird watching. The channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George, attracting large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and over 600 bird species.

Kyambura Walk and Game Drive

Kyambura Gorge Walk

In the morning, drive 15 minutes to meet the ranger for briefing and start your walk to the Kyambura Gorge. Here you will have a chance to see chimpanzees, hippopotamuses, sometimes elephants, and other wildlife in this unique underground forest ecosystem.

Evening Game Drive

Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a late afternoon game drive in Kasenyi plains for wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes, and many more species.

To Ishasha Sector

The highlight of your safari! Drive 10 minutes to the briefing area and meet with the ranger. Start the trek into the impenetrable forest to meet the gentle giants. Spend one magical hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

The afternoon can be spent exploring Kisoro town, visiting a coffee processing shop, or the Gorilla Doctors office to learn about gorilla conservation efforts.

This day is dedicated to golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga National Park.
