Experience Uganda's closest savannah park. Game drives with zebras, giraffes, and impalas. Boat cruise with hippos and stunning scenery.
Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda's smallest savannah national park but packs incredible wildlife diversity into its compact 370 square kilometers. Located just 240km from Kampala (approximately 4 hours' drive), it's the perfect destination for a rewarding day safari or weekend getaway.
The park is characterized by rolling hills, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and five lakes—including the namesake Lake Mburo. It's the only park in Uganda where you can see Impalas (hence the park's alternative nickname "Home of the Impala") and is famous for having the highest concentration of zebras in the country.
Unlike many African parks dominated by big cats, Lake Mburo offers a different safari experience. The absence of lions and elephants makes it ideal for walking safaris, horseback riding, and close wildlife encounters in a more relaxed atmosphere.
